Issue using NVDA with a Braille Display

Sorry the topic is so vague; I couldn't think of a more specific (but short) way to describe it. I'm using a Packmate braille display with the latest version of NVDA. Generally everything works well, but my one gripe is that I can't make the braille and focus cursors follow each other. With JAWS, I could tether the PC cursor and the Braille cursor to each other so that if I read a long document using only braille, and stopped to edit something, the PC cursor was waiting at the exact spot. As it is now, I could b halfway through reading a 79-page thesis, and if I was only using braille to do it, the PC cursor itself (which I think NVDA calls the focus cursor, still getting that straight) is still at the beginning of the document because it doesn't follow the display. Yes, I've tried using the routing buttons to bring the cursor where I want it, and while that does move the Braille cursor, my PC thinks I'm still way up at the top.
I've searched forums and read the entire user guide, but no luck. Has anyone worked out a way to accomplish this?

Control-NVDA-t toggles between "Braille tethered to review" and "Braille tethered to focus". If you accidentally changed this setting it might cause the problem you're describing.
